Easter Desserts to Try this Year

(Photo from the Gourmet Gourmand)

Easter is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect reason to dust off my apron and try my hand at baking some sweet new recipes.

So this year, I thought I would share with you some of the many recipes I’ve been dying to try for Easter from some very talented bakers and food bloggers.

Let’s dive in, shall we?

1. Carrot Cake Loaf from The Gourmet Gourmand

I am a sucker for loaf cakes- something about the clean shape and soft glazes makes me think of English tea time and a pleasant afternoon. They are beautiful! Especially this adorable design for a carrot cake loaf from The Gourmet Gourmand

2. Lemon Lindzer Cookies from Tutti Dolci

With German and Austrian heritage, lindtzer cookies are a staple in my family around Christmas time, but I had never seen them done in spring until I saw these adorable Citrus Curd Linzer Cookies from Tutti Dolci that make me think of bright, sunny eggs. (That means they’re healthy, right?) So cute!

3. Bunny Cinnamon Rolls

This is a recipe that is great if you’re in a hurry because you can use store bought cinnamon rolls or make your own. But either way, the design and execution of these adorable “Cinnabunnies” by Julie Blanner is incredible.

4. Lemon- Blueberry Pavlova from Better Homes and Gardens

Light, creamy, sweet-tart, and wholesome; and shaped like a beautiful bird’s nest- if that bird was the Dior of birds! From the moment I first learned about Pavlovas I was in love. It’s amazing how simple egg whites transform into a decadent and sophisticated dessert with this Lemon-Blueberry Pavlova recipe from Better Homes and Gardens.

5. Easter Egg Cake from Preppy Kitchen

This Easter Egg Cake recipe from Preppy Kitchen really takes the cake! (Wink, wink!)

But really though! I have been wanting to make some variation of this beautiful cake for years now. I love the robin’s egg blue color of the frosting- complete with speckles, the delicious looking toasted coconut nest on top, nestled with beautiful matching candy eggs. We couldn’t make a prettier cake if we tried!

Happy Baking!
